Can I take perfume on a flight?
Airport security is incredibly stringent with liquids. Pack the wrong thing in your hand luggage and you risk having it taken off you and discarded.
So to make sure you don't get caught out, here is all you need to know about taking your precious perfume abroad…

The first thing to note is that every airport and airline will have slightly different rules and it’s important to check with your providers on their specific ones.
Each country also different rules. The below is mainly relevant to the UK and the USA.
In your hand luggage you can take any liquid up to 100ml / 3.4fl Oz.
The container it’s in also has to be max 100ml in size. So you can’t, for instance, take 100ml of liquid in a 200ml bottle.
You will have to present all liquids, including perfumes, at security in a clear plastic bag. It will save you time to do this in advance (a simple sandwich bag will suffice), but the airport will provide clear bags, along with packing stations if for some reason you are unable to.
There is a little more leniency with checked luggage, but remember that perfume is classed as hazardous goods (it contains denatured alcohol, which is flammable) so most airlines with only allow up to 500ml / 17 fl Oz.
