Mood Enhancing Fragrances: THE SCIENCE-BACKED PERFUME
"Imagine a fragrance that not only smells great, but makes you feel good too."
- Givaudan
As with many creative fields, perfumery has seen huge advancements in the way creations come to fruition over the past few decades. However, few are as notable as the one that Le Jardin Retrouvé are utilising with their latest fragrance 'Osmanthe Liu Yuan'.
A sparkling fruity scent that is centered around Peach, Osmanthus and Apricot, Osmanthe Liu Yuan uses Givaudan's latest innovation, 'VivaScentz'.
After 30 years of multi-disciplinary research and testing with thousands of real people, the acclaimed perfume production house Givaudan have created an algorithm for perfumers like Maxence to use and create mood enhancing fragrances.
In practise the process seems fairly simple; the perfumer creates a scent, runs it through the algorithm and Vivascentz will tell them if they are hitting the right spots to be likely to boost people's moods.
However the work that went into making Vivascentz so effective is mind-boggling with Givaudan reporting that in a test with over 2,000 consumers the vast majority of people "felt more optimistic and better equipped to face their everyday lives" after using a Vivascentz-approved fragrance.
Osmanthe Liu Yuan, created by master perfumer and Le Jardin Retrouvé's regular collaborator Maxence Moutte, is inspired by childhood years in Provence.
